Our Story

How Batho Pele Came To Be

Batho Pele Christian School was registered as a separate legal entity at the end of 2022 with Vastfontein Community Transformation as the “holding company”.

The mission of BPCS is to glorify God by providing an education that fosters spiritual, social, and intellectual maturity in each learner.

BPCS recognises that parents are ultimately responsible for the education of their children. Therefore, BPCS functions in cooperation with the learner’s home. The biblical view of life, which understands God's truth to be the standard for all truth, is the basis of the curriculum. The curriculum thus serves to reaffirm the biblical world view of the school.

The learners at BPCS are able to study under Christian instruction and example, supported by high academic standards. Within this framework learners are able to obtain a strong foundation from which they can fulfil their God-given calling, become contributors to the South African economy and serve in their communities.

Initially BPCS was the education division of Vastfontein Community Transformation (VCT). VCT is a non-profit company that focuses on the development and social upliftment of its surrounding communities. Vastfontein is registered as a Non-Profit Company (NPC) and Public Benefit Organization (PBO).

Since its inception in June 1998 it grew from a small concern managed by individuals on a part-time basis to a non-profit company that now owns the 17ha property on which it operates and has a full-time staff of more than seventy employees. In 2005 Grade R started and since then 1 grade and classroom has been added to the school facility each year.

In 2013 the Primary school reached its full capacity on its campus. The Secondary School enrolled its first learners in 2018 and the first building for the secondary school campus was completed in December 2018. The first learners matriculated from BPCS in 2021.

Values and Faith Statement

We treat all people with Respect no matter who they are or where they come from or what background they have. We strive for service Excellence, continuously equipping and empowering our staff and learners to ensure that we render the best possible level of services to others in our community. We focus on being compliant with all statutory regulations by maintaining accurate and transparent records, thus being good Stewards of all the resources entrusted to us - and we expect our learners to do the same.

Through our committed services in the community we bring hope to the hopeless. The foundation of this hope is the Truth of everlasting hope through the redemptive work of Christ Jesus. We expect our staff and learners to embrace and live a life of truth as they build on Him as their foundation.

We aim to live by Galatians 5:6 — Nothing else counts but faith expressing itself through love
