General Information
Batho Pele Christian School is an independent private school serving the Vastfontein and surrounding community making affordable quality private Christian education available to children in the community.
The school is governed by a Board of Directors, comprising of professional business people who understand the importance of Education. The Head of Education (HoE) is appointed by the board. The HoE is responsible for the spiritual formation of the management team and staff as well as the sustainability, risk and governance of the organisation, including the quality and success of the Academic, Cultural and Sport programs.
School Management and Governance
The School Management teams report to the HoE. The HoE also fulfils the role of principal and oversees the daily activities at the secondary school while the primary school deputy principal takes responsibility for the Pre-primary and Primary School with. Heads of grade/phase ensure the smooth running of the school and their focus is on academic excellence and spiritual formation as well as maintaining discipline.
The administration and finance functions are outsourced to the Founding Organisation (Vastfontein Community Transformation (VCT)) and report to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of VCT who is responsible for all administration, financial management and accounting, facilities, technical support and maintenance.
School Fees
The school fees are reviewed annually by the management team and submitted to the Board of Directors for approval by the board.
Transport
We do not provide school transport. Parents privately contract transport from Hammanskraal, Rooiwal, Pyramid and the local areas surrounding Vastfontein.
School Hours
Pre-School:
06:30 – 18:00 Mondays to Fridays
Primary and Secondary School:
07:30 to 14:30 on Mondays and Wednesdays.
07:30 to 15:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays and includes sport and cultural activities as well as extra classes.
07:30 to 13:30 on Fridays.
School Uniforms
All branded schoolwear can be purchased from SilverCross Schollwear situated at 248 Eeufees street, Pretoria North:
Pre-School: Own clothes and Denim pants or skirts with a surf blue branded golf shirt and tekkies for special days and outings
Primary School: Grey school short or long pants for boys and grey school skirts (with black ski-pants) or long pants. Red branded school golf shirt and black school shoes with long grey socks. Grey Jersey or branded school fleece jackets.
Secondary School: Grey school pants / skirt; branded white button shirt with collar; school branded tie and pullover (Optional: black school blazer) black school shoes and grey socks. Grey Jersey or branded school fleece jackets.
Both primary and secondary school wear branded school sports pants and branded red golf shirts for sports periods and events.
